In 2025, the Amar Nath Sehgal Private Collection launched, Jangpura, The Portrait of a Community, a publication that emerged from the ongoing Jangpura–Bhogal Community Initiative. Rooted in the neighbourhood that Sehgal called home for over six decades, the book is a heartfelt documentation of Jangpura and Bhogal’s layered cultural, social, and architectural history.
This project was shaped by the dedication of many. Sohail Hashmi, an integral part of the initiative, along with Anil Goswami, guided the narrative through personal memories and deep engagement with the area’s past. Historian Dr. Saeed Ahmad played a pivotal role—his extensive research and Ph.D. on Jangpura and Bhogal formed the backbone of our work, offering invaluable insights into the neighbourhood’s socio-political and cultural fabric.
The book stands as both a tribute and a beginning—anchoring a larger community archive housed at the museum, where stories, photographs, and memories continue to grow through contributions from the people of Jangpura and Bhogal.
