The group show organized by Vadehra Art Gallery was a juxtaposition of contemporary as well as modern masters masters such as Amar Nath Sehgal, krishen Khanna, Gulammohammed Sheikh, J. Swaminathan, Mrinalini Mukherjee, Dhruva Mistry, Shanko Chaudhuri and Himmat Shah amongst others.
The exhibition 100 Years of Sehgal: the Modern Artist’s Centennial Anniversary,
was organized in collaboration with the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi.
Curated by Uma Nair, the exhibition of 2 weeks, at the IIC, showcased a collection of paperwork and a sculpture inspired from Sehgal’s Epic Episodes of the Ramayana and Mahabharata and the Ganesh series, a collection of prints.
IGNCA holds a collection of some iconic works by Sehgal in their permanent collection. Along with the various exhibitions in the city celebrating the artist, a paperwork show of 100 artworks had been curated for the first time
The exhibition was organised by Dhoomimal Gallery in New Delhi.
The show was a reminiscence of the art collective, The Delhi Shilpi Chakra which was formed on 25th March 1949.
