This gave insight into the influences of different events that shaped his art as well as various mediums he worked with.

Instamatic, a talk by Suvir Saran

An internationally accomplished chef, cookbook author, educator, and culinary consultant New Delhi-born Michelin Star Chef Suvir Saran has nurtured a lifelong passion for the traditional flavors of Indian cooking. He has published various cookbooks and his most recent book, Instamatic is a series of photographs shot by him. has regularly been featured in the top international publications such as The New York Times, TIME magazine and The Wall Street Journal.

Saran has long been regarded as a legend in New York City food circles, having garnered a Michelin star at `Devi`, a restaurant that integrates Indian and American cuisine with other world cultures making it arguably the most ambitious and refined restaurant in New York.
Saran has served as Chairman of Asian Culinary Studies for the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) and travels around the world sharing his knowledge and skills.

In 2018, Saran joined the board of a hospitality group in New Delhi’s Capital Region, with current plans to open a hotel and restaurant in 2021.

Arun is a multi disciplinary artist also known as an environmentalist.

He uses objects and material that have served its purpose and gives form and a new meaning to them. He has made social practice an extension of his art practice. From recycling material to reviving rivers, he conveys complex messages such as global warming and the imbalance in a sustainable life through mass production and consumption. Coming from a farming background, Arun delivers the importance of nature and a balanced ecosystem.

Arun is the founder director of SARA Centre, a community driven artist run initiative located in the Shimoga district of Karnataka, addressing the ecological concerns of the agricultural region of the Western Ghats.

Outliers, Rebels, and Disrupters – Delhi Silpi Chakra, 70 years on Dhoomimal Gallery, New Delhi

10th April 2021 to 2nd July 2021

The formation of the Delhi Silpi Chakra gave birth to a progressive art movement inaugurated on 7th October 1949. A space for artists to ideate, create, and support each other, forming a like-minded community in the capital city of newly independent India. The bronze bust of B.C. Sanyal, one of the founders of the movement, was made by Amar Nath Sehgal, on display at the show (from the Amar Nath Sehgal Private Collection).

When Srijanatmak Manushi Sanstha Came to Visit USV

The drawing workshop with the children of was Srijanatmak Manushi Sanstha a revelation. The artworks shall be displayed along with the results of our clay workshop at the end of this year. We totally loved the young artists’ interpretations of the Indian artist, Amar Nath Sehgal.

We are proud to launch our first edition of the Young Artist’s Program- a platform for budding young artists to propagate their ideas and interventions through the medium of art.
Housed at The Academy of Fine Arts & Literature from November 11th- November 25th,2022 In Solitude by Harsh Kumar is our first edition of the program. A Fine Arts enthusiast, Harsh’s work transgresses the boundaries of experimentation and aims to depict the subconscious reality of our minds. His experimentation with colors and medium is a way to satiate the curiosity he shares with the fearlessness in his brush.
